The Fight

An artist shares their thoughts on divorce:

“I really hate it when people get married and have a child or two then get divorced.  I wish parents could just put up with each other for the sake of their kid. I even hate children and I feel bad for the kid.”

Love Like in a Fairytale??

Artist shares their experience with divorce:  “Divorce somehow pulls the rug out from under me – like in my drawing (the heart becomes black and breaks and the black from the heart, flows into the child), and from both sides dark thoughts about love and the other sex reached me – like in my drawing (the black from the parents hands which hold the child´s hands flows into the child), before I was full of dreams – dreams like fairytales – (in the drawing the colours in the child). And that the child is broken is a symbol for the break-up of the child´s world, but also a little critic to all divorced parents: Divorce destroys always a bit of a child and often the parents fight to have the child, but without regard to the child itself!”

Before You Divorce…

The impact of divorce for the child is HUGE!   Here is a message from one parent to anyone thinking about divorce!

Note: Anyone thinking about divorce-please read the entries on this site (and other websites). Messages from moms, dads, children and outsiders…..this reveals the true impact of divorce.

.

To anyone thinking about divorce,

PLEASE PLEASE read up on divorce and your child!  Find out how your child will change when you divorce!

Divorce changes EVERYTHING!  Divorce will CHANGE your child!!!!!  Your child will NEVER be the same.  AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY!  There will always be a hole in their heart!  They will always wonder about who else may leave them or betray them.  If you are in an unhappy marriage STAY if you can.  You may have a few years of unhappiness. But if you can spare your child the trauma of divorce, STAY MARRIED.  Of course, if there is abuse this may not work.  BUT, think about your child first!  There are many books and websites on how divorce changes your child’s life.  Read these BEFORE choosing divorce.

I wishy my parents did!!!

Impact of Divorce Lingers On

When one parent says they want a divorce a common question by the parent who does not want a divorce is ‘what about the  children?’  To which the first parent says ‘the children will be fine’.  The impact of divorce lingers FOR YEARS after the separation!  As demonstrated by this child of divorce who shares the hurt, emotional pain and disappointment of a parents’ divorce.

.

My parents divorced 59 years ago! I loved my mother very much but I never saw my dad again. I can still remember the day he left. All those lies about no impact on the children, is just that, lies!

Burning

A child’s depiction of divorce!

Divorce for this child seems to be a scary thing.  Fire in art drawings can represent emotional distress.  One can imagine the emotional distress this child is experiencing.  The entire pic is about fire! .

“My Family”

Draw Your Family + Divorce = Paper Ripped to Shreds.  A young child was asked to draw a pic of their family. He started drawing a pic and then ripped the picture apart and crumpled the pieces.

THIS IS THE REALITY OF DIVORCE!!!!!!  For the child, their world is ‘ripped to shreds’ and ‘crumpled’!

This is Shared Parenting!

.

From a financial perspective, parents working together makes sense.  Instead of spending an excessive amount of dollars on attorney fees and court costs, the money could be used for daily livingeducation, and vacations. Parenting together is in the best interest of the child.  See how these parents work with each other regarding legal matters.  In Shared parenting, EVERYONE in the family wins!

.

Since my ex- and I share custody, follow court orders, and follow Friend of the Court procedures, we don’t needlessly waste money on attorneys and court costs. That money goes into our child’s college fund, extra-curricular activities, and vacations.

I wish all parents were smart enough and mature enough to do the same! It’s sad when one parent has it together and the other parent is vindictive, abuses the children, violates court orders, and forces an innocent parent to spend money on an attorney and going to court to hold the irresponsible parent accountable. It takes so much away from what’s available for the children and is just another type of abuse by unfit parents.

“Family”

This artist capture “the side of the family no one wants to see.”  This girl is hiding in her room with the music full blast and “the yelling still manages to reach your ears from the downstairs.”

A very sad depiction of divorce.
